Nordic Semiconductor today announces it has partnered with São Paulo, Brazil-based BP&M to provide third party sales representation and technical support throughout South America. The agreement covers sales and technical support for Nordic’s entire portfolio of low power cellular IoT and short-range wireless solutions.
BP&M has been in business for over 20 years, and with extensive experience in RF technology is among the leading sales representation and consulting firms in the region. In addition to its headquarters in São Paulo, the company has a presence in many key locations across Brazil, and will also represent Nordic’s product line throughout all of South America. A dedicated Field Application Engineer (FAE) has been assigned to support Nordic customers in all project phases from design and architecture, to development, prototype, and production.
BP&M will supply Nordic’s complete portfolio of low power cellular IoT and short-range wireless connectivity hardware, firmware, development tools, and reference designs, including the nRF9160 low power System-in-Package (SiP) with integrated LTE-M/NB-IoT modem and GPS, the nRF5340 System-on-Chip (SoC) — the world’s first dual Arm Cortex-M33 processor wireless SoC — as well as the nRF52833 SoC, a fully-featured short-range wireless solution that supports Direction Finding.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is developing rapidly in South America, with massive deployment of cellular IoT infrastructure and an increasing focus on short-range wireless solutions across both established market verticals such as transportation and metering, as well as emerging sectors including home and building automation, industrial IoT, and agriculture. With the eighth largest economy in the world, the number of connected IoT devices in Brazil is forecast to total almost 416 million by 2023, according to analysts.
“Nordic Semiconductor is a well-known brand around the world — including South America — and is a natural choice for developers when it comes to wireless connectivity,” says Robson Tenedini Sales/Business Development Manager, BP&M. “Nordic’s robust and scalable portfolio of short-range technologies, alongside the nRF9160 SiP for cellular IoT applications, and the expectation of Wi-Fi products in the near future, clearly demonstrates the company’s leadership in connectivity solutions.
“Our partnership with Nordic, backed by our technical support capability provides developers with the confidence they will receive comprehensive assistance, in their native language, whenever they need it.”
“This partnership will see customers in South America finally have access to the number one Bluetooth LE supplier in the world, complemented by BP&M’s outstanding technical support,” says Scott Hensley, Americas Sales Manager, Nordic Semiconductor. “The IoT is on a roll in Brazil, and with BP&M’s dedicated FAE for Nordic products, backed by our technical support team in the U.S., every developer in South America can have complete confidence they will receive the same high level of support as any other Nordic customer worldwide.”
