Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF54H20 ultra-low power SoC wins 2024 World Electronics Achievement Awards

Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF54H20 SoC has been selected as the winner of the ‘RF/Wireless/Microwave’ category of the 2024 World Electronics Achievement Awards (WEAA), after rigorous evaluation by AspenCore global senior analysts and user community worldwide.

The nRF54H20 SoC is a groundbreaking SoC that sets new standards in processing efficiency and performance. As the first SoC in the nRF54H Series, it integrates multiple Arm® Cortex®-M33 processors and RISC-V coprocessors, clocked up to 320 MHz, each optimized for specific workloads. This advanced architecture more than doubles the processing power of its predecessor, the nRF5340, making it ideal for demanding applications such as machine learning (ML) and sensor fusion at the edge. 

nRF54H20 boasts a best-in-class multiprotocol radio with record-breaking RX sensitivity, supporting Bluetooth LE, LE Audio, Bluetooth mesh, Thread, Matter, and more. Its radio features -100 dBm RX sensitivity for Bluetooth LE and -104 dBm for 802.15.4, combined with up to 10 dBm TX power, ensuring robust and long-range wireless communication. 

Security is a cornerstone of the nRF54H20, designed to meet PSA Certified Level 3 standards, the highest in the PSA Certified IoT security standard. It includes secure boot, secure firmware updates, secure storage, and protection against physical attacks. 

The SoC’s processing efficiency is validated by the EEMBC ULPMark-CM benchmarks, achieving impressive scores that highlight its capability to balance maximum processing efficiency and performance.
