Why use security services?
All cloud-connected devices need credentials to securely connect to the cloud. Securely provisioning devices can be complex and costly, and it typically involves creating proprietary secure infrastructure and processes. nRF Cloud Security Services provides secure identity and secure provisioning out-of-the-box to solve these problems for our customers.

Secure Provisioning |
Provides a secure and unique identity for devices that can be used for authentication. |
Configure the device remotely with the required credentials and custom configurations. |
Benefits of security services
Streamlined manufacturingWith our security services there is no need to roll your own credential management tools nor generating keys on the factory floor. This simplifies and lowers the cost of your manufacturing process. |
|
Globally deployable productsRemote provisioning allows you to manufacture generic products that can be deployed anywhere on the planet as they can be provisioned during at deployment time. |
|
Lifecycle securityEnsure your devices stay secure after deployment with the capability to rotate keys, rollout new certifications or clean credentials and configurations |
Secure identity
It's extremely important to be able to verify the origin of parts in your manufacturing and later authenticate those devices in your application cloud. Nordic's nRF91 Series SiPs have a cryptographically provable unique identity that can be used to verify origin during your end product manufacturing. Secure provisioning
Loading application-specific credentials during end-product manufacturing makes for a more complex process and a long list of SKUs for each required configuration, which can be specific to a region, a customer, an application, or other parameters. With nRF Cloud secure provisioning service you can manufacture generic devices that receive their credentials at deployment.
